Privacy at Lunvo
Last updated: October 2026
Lunvo listens while you sleep, so you can find out how you snore, what you say in your sleep and how well you rest. That is personal. This is why everything Lunvo hears stays on your iPhone. Here is exactly what goes where.
In short
- Recordings, snoring and sleep-talk clips, transcripts and your sleep scores stay only on your iPhone. We never receive them.
- Snoring detection and the text of your sleep talk are created on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to any server for this.
- Usage statistics are sent only if you agree. They are anonymous, contain no audio and no health data, and run on servers in the EU.
- No account, no email address, no password. No ads, no tracking across other companies' apps, no selling of data.

1. Microphone and night recording
When you tap "Track sleep", Lunvo uses your iPhone's microphone during the night. It does not keep the whole night as audio. It measures the loudness continuously and saves only short clips of moments that stand out (for example loud snoring or sleep talk), plus a loudness curve of the night.
- Where: only in the app's storage on your iPhone.
- Analysis: Apple's on-device sound classification recognizes snoring, talking, coughing and other sounds. It runs on your iPhone.
- Sleep talk as text: Apple's speech recognition writes down what you say, set to work only on your device. Your voice is not sent to Apple or to us.
- Other people: the microphone can also pick up a partner or other sounds in the room. Please let the people you share the room with know that you use Lunvo.
- Deleting: you can delete single nights in the app at any time, or everything at once under Profile → Delete all data. Deleting the app removes everything from your iPhone.
The microphone is only used after you allow it in Apple's permission window. You can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Microphone. Without it, sounds and alarm still work, but nights cannot be recorded.
2. What else is stored only on your iPhone
- Your name, if you enter one (optional)
- Your onboarding answers, for example whether and how loudly you snore, what may trigger it, whether a partner is affected and your age group
- Your nights: duration, sleep score, snoring minutes, loud moments (noises, coughs, talking), the remedy you are testing
- Your sound mixes, bedtime, alarm and settings
Information about your sleep and snoring can be health data. We do not receive it, store it on servers or share it. If you use iCloud Backup for your iPhone, this data is included like with any app. Apple manages that backup, not us.
3. Notifications and alarm
Bedtime reminders and the alarm are scheduled directly on your iPhone (the alarm uses Apple's AlarmKit). Nothing is sent to us or anyone else for that.
4. Usage statistics (PostHog), only with your consent
During onboarding, Lunvo asks once whether it may send anonymous usage statistics. Until you agree, they are off. If you agree, Lunvo sends anonymous events to PostHog so we can see what helps and what doesn't, for example "onboarding step shown", "paywall shown" or "night tracked".
- What is sent: the event, the app language, the app version, the device model and iOS version, the app being opened and closed, and a random ID created only for these statistics.
- What is never sent: audio, clips, transcripts, sleep scores, snoring data, your onboarding answers or your name.
- IP address: it is transmitted for technical reasons when sending, but PostHog does not store it.
- Where: PostHog Inc., servers in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time in Lunvo's settings under "Anonymous usage statistics". After that the app sends nothing, and the random ID is reset.
- Retention: at most 12 months.
5. Lunvo Plus (subscription)
Lunvo is used with the Lunvo Plus subscription, with a free trial at the start. Payment runs entirely through the App Store and is handled by Apple. We see neither your name nor your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchases.
So that your subscription works on all your devices, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat Inc., USA). RevenueCat checks whether your subscription is active and receives Apple's purchase receipts from the app (product, purchase date, trial, expiry), a random customer ID, the country of your App Store account, the device model and the iOS version. RevenueCat never gets recordings, sleep data or your answers.
- Legal basis: performance of your subscription contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Transfer to the USA: based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Retention: as long as the subscription exists, and afterwards as long as legal retention duties apply.
You can cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings under Apple ID → Subscriptions.
6. Not a medical device
Lunvo helps you understand your sleep and snoring. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything. If you snore loudly and stop breathing at night, please talk to a doctor.
7. What we don't do
- No ads and no ad networks
- No tracking across other companies' apps and websites (that's why Lunvo never asks for "App Tracking")
- No uploading of recordings, no selling or sharing of your data
- No account, no email address, no location, no access to camera, photos or contacts
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. Just write to info@yzdigitalstudio.com.
Because the statistics are anonymous, we often cannot link data to a person. Everything that lives only on your iPhone you delete yourself in the app or by deleting the app. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live.
9. Children
Lunvo is meant for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
If anything in this policy changes, the new date appears here. For important changes we'll let you know in the app.
